He cannot speak other than eat eat which is a word to include sign language the psychiatrist and speech therapist taught him. Her little sissy looked so cute and vulnerable.
What I can do is shop the consignment sale. Most of that is non-essential as my kids have way too many clothes and toys. I just cannot pass up wooden trains and Legos. But my kids don't need most of what I buy there and this year I will not be spending nearly that amount.
Cloth diapers are a possibility for most people. It may not be a choice they want to make, but they can. I personally would need to be dead broke before considering cloth diapers without my washing machine, but I do know a family in that situation that makes it work. I will accept your price estimate on those, I haven't done the math yet.
These just aren't necessary. They may be desired, but if we are talking luxuries, which these are, we could get the cost to raise a child very high, indeed. I won't factor them in because they aren't required to raise a child and they aren't even required to raise a child well. They are an option for families with the money to pay for them. I can't really comment here since I am in America where our health care landscape is changing. In past years I know uninsured people who have paid very little for their health care for their kids.
We paid more since we carried insurance on them, but my 2-year-old hasn't seen a doctor since he was a few months old and that was for a specific problem with his arms that most children don't have.
Most people just aren't willing to make the choices to do that, myself included. I am not going to spend time discussing most of the pitthy young things being discussed. And never say anything that teenagers might say ; it will come right back at you many years later. That is my 1 life expeirence rule:. Wow— I have 4 amazing kids 2 of whom are autistic and I blow that budget on traveling to therapy and medical appointments alone. I love how easily items are discarded from the total in that report.
You guys need to realize what this study is. From the summary of the report which i insert after having written this entire post, and find that some of my post is addressed in the summary of the report. These costs specifically exclude any costs that were already in place prior to the child and would still be in place if the child leaves the household.
It seems strange to include opportunity costs in the costs of childcare. You have a choice. Do you incur more childcare costs in order to get more income, or do you incur less childcare costs? It also seems strange to include costs unique to your situation, such as costs of changing your transportation and housing. People seem to forget to add the cost of water, detergent and hydro to wash clothe diapers they seem to only factor in the purchase cost.
Parenting costs what it costs, if you were worried about budgeting and making sure you could still afford your BMW, why did you have kids? I agree that the study seems to rely heavily on the premise that only the absolute basic needs of the child are met. However, even with that premise not including child care, or the opportunity cost of self provided care, is a huge oversight for an economist! Having said that, it is clear to me that a substantial amount of money I spend on my children is discretionary.
Its possible because somehow my parents raised 6 kids on one minimum wage income. We never had the best or nicest things, family vacations meant road trips and crashing with extended family, but it worked. Several families I know have covered child care without giving up a second income by working shifts. The cost on a marriage of the parents working alternate shift hours, though, can be very high. Sleep often ends up shortchanged and that can lead to some nasty health complications down the road.
Did they budget for eyeglasses for each child? What about dental care? That is a choice by parents, but not part of the basics of life, nor part of getting a kid to age No, teens do not need a cell phone. Nor do they need every video game, sports club, theatre, etc.. They might want it, and it might keep them out of your hair, but those are NOT necessities of life. I beg to differ. You are shucking your responsibilities. I think the fine folks at the Fraiser Institute are using all the money they saved on raising kids and using it to buy and smoke crack.
I have raised two sets of kids the older ones being 32,30,28; the younger a set of 15 year old twins at this time. I was a teen mother who was married young. Others were extremely nice to me and had huge baby showers for me. Family purchased the crib, pram and high chair used. I breast fed all my children until 8 mons and weined them onto homo milk not acceptable now I did use cloth diapers at home and paper ones when out. I stayed home and babysat others little ones for extra money until my third child was three.
Our family vehicle broke down and my husband was already working two jobs low paying I had a chance for free daycare for one year. I took it so we could afford a used mini van. We probably spent less than a year sometimes but we constantly had to do things like grow gardens, can food, make everything from scratch, help on a friends farm he could not afford a labourer in exchange for beef and pork sides.
I one time bought year old laying chickens for. My husbands grandmother showed me how to kill, gut and pluck these in her backyard. I bought shares in a cow so I could legally have fresh farm milk -turned out my kids were allergic to milk. Kept the cream ,made my own butter by shaking it in a canning jar.
Sewed clothes for my children out of clothes others gave me including halloween costumes. I do not drive. I chose to live in town so I could walk everywhere. We never starved, we didn t have much but my children always had good food and cool clothes and books and toys. One thing can be said i did not ever sleep in and was often up late. I did not have time for tv watching except special occasions. I was tired alot. There are many other things we did to make money all legal and claimed but it was hard.
I still make almost all meals from scratch at home. Active boys this age eat alot of snacks. We eventually sold at a substantial profit and bought a larger home for very little more than we sold the first one for. A basic crib was a gift from my parents and two free dressers from my sister and a garage sale rocker were the furniture. Formula was the biggest ongoing expense, but only for a year for each child. Being able to breastfeed would have cut expenses dramatically.
I bought a few more for the second child. We already drove a small sedan, bought a few years earlier as a used vehicle. We used the same car seat for both. Although I had sewn my own clothing from the age of ten thanks, Mom I agree that buying new fabric, patterns and notions was not a cost or time effective way of clothing kids when there are thrift shops overflowing with good quality ready made items.
I had a stroller but back then they would barely navigate a crack in the sidewalk, so in retrospect, it was not a cost effective expense. The ones available now are much better, but the consignment store near us sells them fairly inexpensively and always seems to have a good selection out front. If your child is special needs, you would have more expense, but that is probably why the FI report does not include them.
They are above and beyond the basics. Daycare was about half what you are now paying, but even though I had a well paying position the people at manpower told me there were only about a dozen local employers where I could expect a comparable wage that certainly would have eaten up a sizeable portion of my take home pay. Since my husband was self employed, I became a partner in his business, and income splitting meant we were further ahead financially especially with dependants.
I realize that most people do not have that option. Doing that math whether you stay home to have children, or whether you have self employment and income splitting as an option is an eyeopener.
Squawkfox blogger Kerry K. Taylor explains why daycare, accommodation and transportation costs have to be factored in to get a true […]. But the choices we made about housing, vehicles, toys, furniture, and activities were just that: I will give the report credit for reminding about needs versus wants. As a child of hard working immigrants who re-started with nothing, I absolutely believe a healthy child can be raised on 3k a year.
My mother supported a young family of 5 waiting tables while my Dad went back to university to get a degree that would get him a job in his new country. Everything I had was a hand me down — from siblings, friends and garage sales. I distinctly remember getting my first brand new clothes — pants and a t-shirt — at age We walked or took the bus everywhere until we got our first family car, a 10 year old Honda Civic.
My grandad was my nanny, supplemented by neighbours and friends. Family vacations for the first 7 years was driving to visit family in a nearby city. Entertainment was a 3-hour outing to the public library or a long walk to the park. I think I was carried until I could walk, and walked kilometres by the time I was 3. Did I have a healthy happy childhood? We kids got a great education from public schools, and went on to success in our professions. Are my kids any healthier or happier than I was as a child?
The lifestyle people describe here is a middle-class lifestyle. They are full of wonderful things every parent wants to give their child — swim lessons, good day cares, a vehicle to drive them places, their very own books on the shelf, a great stroller with handy features. Hundreds of thousands of immigrants do so every day in Canada. That Fraser report was ridiculous. They are a bunch of old, rich white guys who live in fantasy land and spend their time telling the rest of Canada how to live.
I hear ya on this one! Thought there was something wrong with me when I had my one and only bundle of joy…. All was well until grandma moved out of the country and great grandma could no longer keep up with the kiddo! Enter the very expensive daycare years. We did not qualify for subsidies and paid full blast for everything. And we even rearranged our schedules to keep him only part time at daycare. I take full responsibility for the choices I made.
But subsistence living is not okay for most I could also live on rice and beans, but will take responsibility for gasp!
He is now 11, and more frugal than me. His clothing has always been secondhand, his meals are simple, he attends a great public school and is happy with frugal activities and amusements. I think this report was written by a citizen of the fabled utopia. Those were some calculations you just did to determine the real cost of raising a child. I think people over at the research institute just figured one parent earned enough to pay for everything so the other parent could replace daycare, and then the author of the report probably shaved off tons of dollars by going for hand-me-downs and reusing old accessories for new babies, like car seats, cribs and prams and so on.
It all depends on your own lifestyle…. I dont have kids but i do have a niece and nephew. After seeing what they go through with monthly expenses, it seems like it would be pretty difficult. This would especially be true if you want them to do alot of activities and get out of the house. It definitely does depend on the type of lifestyle you want to maintain, but it would be difficult.
Granted, the childcare was several times that amount…. Hey did any of you see the report on the news yesterday? How do they know what this child ate the rest of the day? This an example of one of those hidden costs that a parent has little or no control over. I look forward to reading many more posts from you going forward.
I was wondering if you had read Welcome to Holland? This post reminded me of it, http: And even down to the serious sleep issues that plagued us for two and a half years that his pediatrician tried to rule as ADHD in a one year old imagine THAT diagnosis: Thank you for this and thank you for allowing me to reflect.
My son has had serious sleep issues since he was an infant. I could NOT get him to sleep. The crazy things I had to do to get him to sleep……we were desperate.
Our neighbors, our relatives, everyone it seemed thought there was something wrong with us that we could not handle this infant. Finally a friend of mine figured out it was not lullybyes he need to fall asleep…it was loud rock music. She took him in her arms, turned up the volume, danced with him vigorously and he was asleep in 30 seconds. This was at 6 months of age. We then rocked him to sleep to loud rock music until he was 3 yo and too heavy.
Then we used a rocking chair for a while. Then at 4 yo we had to strap him in his car seat and drive around till he was asleep. Next we resorted to Benadryl and finally had to discuss it with a developmental pediatrician. From years of age he took various medications to help him sleep. Now at 11 yo he takes Melatonin at night. Without the Melatonin he cannot fall asleep, unless he is really totally exhausted. This post took me back to that scary time when I was seeking answers and support at the beginning.
For me the diagnosis brought along with a huge whammy of grieving certainty. My son has autism. My son just turned 4 and is going to get diagnosed by an autism team next month. At 3 autism was ruled out although I knew he was or he definitely had something. So now a specialist said yes he might be autistic and made an appointment for evaluation.
My heart broke because although I knew to hear from a doctor is a different story. By 2, I had suspiciions, and when he put his head through a plate glass window from head banging just days before turning 2, he went to his pediatrician who confirmed the suspicions right after his 2nd birthday.
She was sympathetic—she had an autistic child too. And this is a psych RN as well! On good days we play board games and have good times. On bad, all heck breaks loose. All 3 autie kids play YMCA soccer and are pretty decent at it when they concentrate during the spring and fall seasons. They love swimming, 2 of them like gardening, 1 is fascinated in science, 1 loves Nascar and anything car, 1 is learning how to do more domestically inclined things, the middle one helps mom in the kitchen of his own free will, etc.
They, like any child, have their strengths and weaknesses. The sadness, that is from our own desires and wishes for them to have had a different life. It is our own selfish desires that create our mourning. The goal for ours is to help them grow and be able to live independently as adults.
Maybe be able to go on to college if they desire, or be able to hold down a job. Take it a day at a time…so what if dreams change…they are just that—dreams. From a mother of a 25 year old girl, I wish there was an Internet and your blog when she was 2 years old.
I found it through a Facebook friend and will share it amongst my FB friends. Thank you for writing about each and every symptom and also sharing your experience with that symptom. I especially thank you for pointing out that if parents have any question at all they should get an autism screening.
What a wonderful post! I will also say that I have met some wonderful, amazing people in the autism community and have made great friends.
I truly do not feel alone in this as I first did when we received the diagnosis. You have said everything in a way I wish I could have. Two points I would love to stress that I have tried to explain to people….. The earlier the better. I have lost friends when I have suggested they have their child checked for language delay or god forbid autism.
I have not been wrong in my suspicions so far. Now I bite my tongue and tell myself it is their journey not mine. I grieved the loss off the child I thought he would be, but I attacked this new situation with determination. If he had not been my first child I would have noticed the signs of autism earlier. Now my son is 11 yo and he is amazing. I credit his amazing progress to all the early intervention he had.
I have deffinately become a better parent and a better person along this crazy trip through life with a child on the autism spectrum. I am putting this post in my back pocket to pull out any time I might meet someone in need.
Parents of young kids need to be aware of autism and not let valuable time pass by. I think this is a wonderful post. Of course, it is only the tip of the iceberg. It was hard for me to get anyone to listen. I was searching the internet trying, desperately, to find a way to get people to listen to my mommy instincts. For three years I fought family, friends, the pediatrician—even my husband. That was the first person who told me I had reason to be concerned.
I switched pediatricians despite knowing I had an excellent one, despite this and got a referral. When I finally got my diagnosis, I broke down and cried. Not out of grief, but out of relief. NOW, I could finally get some official help. We worked on therapies at home. I enrolled him in private social therapy and private occupational therapy although they doubted he was ASD.
High functioning autistic kids are harder to get diagnosed. So it is only the tip of the iceberg. You just reminded me of a big one I forgot. Our son never did that. Thank you — I remember so much of this. The evaluations, the fears, the lack of sleep. I mean that is all he would wear. I had to buy 5 pair so he had a pair for each day of preschool and wash repeatedly. At 5 an 6 he repeated jingles off the tv — um…repeatedly. We then had to deal with frustration, depression and an IEP in school for agression.
He is 8 now. We have good days and we have bad days. But with diagnosis in hand we fight the good fight and walk through fire for him.
Hello, can you please describe the shoulder shrugging tic? How often did it occur, facial expression? My daughter is doing this lifting with her shoulders a few times in a row and then stops. Its not an all day thing either. As a speech language pathologist with my arms wide open to kiddos and parents facing challenge of ASD… I applaud this post. It needs to written on a pamphlet and put where every parent can reach out and grab it.
If anyone wants to put it on a pamphlet, just let me know. First of all thank you for this post. I just read your post and that was all of the signs I saw and told I was paranoid or worry too damn much. I am so glad I was not the only one who saw these signs and got help despite resistant from family, my husband, friends and her doctor. Now people know I was not crazy when I got a medical and educational diagnosis of ASD for my 3 year old when she was 2 and a half years old.
I know of someone in my area I would love to email this to her and ask if she can print some out for me in pamphlet form. She is a great friend and neighbor who is a graphic designer and printer. Again thanks for making me feel I am not alone in this! Thank you again for opening your heart to share what so many parents feel. I had to push for more than a YEAR for a diagnosis. I knew at 12 months, when the lights went out with my daughter, that she had autism.
As I like to say, when you have met one autistic child, you have met ONE autistic child. They are all unique, just like a typical child. Whether it is autism or a stomach bug, feel confident that you are doing everything you can for your child. And then smile that God blessed you with her. I had more than one conversation having to convince them myself. What is scary about this — and I wish every pediatrician realized — is that you can knock back regression with intensive therapy.
A typical child might have a few fun and educational therapy sessions? In my dream world, all children would have the benefit of that kind of play anyway. We knew she had special needs hearing issues, club feet and a possible undiagnosed syndrome. This past summer after changing pediatricians to one who specialized in special needs children, she was diagnosed with failure to thrive and PDD-NOS pervasive Development Delay- Not otherwise Specified.
We were actually thrilled to get this diagnosis since this is what we had felt from the beginning obviously our daughter had very serious delays, not walking, talking, low muscle tone etc. That would have been the end of our search for answers — the answers we had received fit the child we saw in front of us. So we had a plan to help her and we were ready to move forward.
I was beginning the journey of researching autism. And then she had a seizure. Out of the blue. She spiked a fever one morning in June, had an incredible meltdown, over the top. Wore her self out and fell asleep. I happened to be sitting next to her while she slept and noticed her start to twitch in her sleep. I am an EMT so it only took me a few seconds to realize she was having a seizure so off we ran to the ER.
Fever induced seizure, no big deal, lots of kids get them. Two weeks later another seizure but no fever. That second seizure has changed our lives forever! Until a child has more than one seizure and or a seizure without a fever an EEG is not a standard test that is run. Because our daughter had a 2nd seizure and one with no fever the automatic next step was to do an EEG to look for signs of epilepsy. Not good news we were thinking. I thank God every day that she had those seizures now because what we found out from the EEG was amazing, frightening, horrifying, and incredible all at the same time.
I put rare in quotes because I am not so sure that it is rare, just rarely found in my opinion. Turns out that the actual seizures she had are totally unrelated to the ESES, they just helped us find it. Basically in ESES, when the child goes to sleep instead of the brain quieting down to rest, repair, and grow the electrical brain activity in these children actually increases. Like a million little internal brain seizures.
These children are getting no deep sleep. And you will never see it on the outside. These children may be very light or difficult sleepers. The reason I am posting this here is because children with ESES are very commonly mistakenly diagnosed with autism. Generally the same age of onset. The child may be developing completely normally and all of a sudden start regressing, losing speech and fine motor abilities.
The earlier it is caught, the more chance that delays or loss of function can be reversed. I wish I could give you links to find out more info on this disorder, but there is very little out there. Hope this might be helpful to some one. Our daughter is still way behind her peers in development but she has made so much progress since she has started treatment. Had to share this on facebook! I have had some friends ask me about autism cause they have concerns about their child, and this was perfect to share with them!
I hope it gets even one person to get a screening. My three year old was just diagnosed in July, but I knew he was autistic by the time he was about two.
Same thing with us. Especially the line of it is the child that makes you special. Our children remind us of what really matters in life. I have to say that hanger fixation brought back memories.
Early intervention is very important. It has helped us tremendously. We thought it was unique to Callum. Somebody needs to fund a study. And the sooner a child on the autism spectrum is diagnosed, the faster you can start getting them the help they will need to thrive. This Blog was very thought provoking to me and I was inspired to write about my experience with the signs of my son. Wow, I have not long discovered your post, but know you have answers to what I have suspected for sometime.
Your blog has helped me so much these last few days get a better understanding, my daughter has been under the hospital since birth, as she has had problems from day one. I am seeking answers now and am awaiting appoinment with a genetist and others to hopefully get the answers and diagnosis I have been seeking since birth. Thanks for your posts. I knew something was different about my son from about 18 months or so.
And he spoke fine—we understood him, he asked for things he wanted, he spoke in full sentences by two. That would go on for hours and hours! Then as he started preschool, it was the dangerous behaviors—bolting out of the room, jumping off of or climbing up on furniture, bumping and crashing into everything and everyone.
And even more meltdowns that resulted in his teachers having to call me several times a day to come deal with him luckily, I worked at his school. I knew something was wrong, but never in a million years thought it was autism! All my Google searches pointed at behavior disorders, sensory processing disorder, things like that.
His symptoms never brought up autism pages. Yet, after his diagnosis of PDD-nos, I saw that he had almost all the classic symptoms, just in his own way. He paces in patterns. He covers his ears, and has huge sensory issues. He spoke on time and speaks well, but has a complete lack of understanding of pronouns, sarcasm, figures of speech, and an inability to appropriately answer questions. I have called numerous times only to be placed on hold for hours at a time.
I have emailed the customer support email continually for the last three months asking to end my order and for instructions on how to return the product they keep sending AFTER I have cancelled.
Every email gets an automated response and then nothing further. Follow emails get the same result. I have placed a stop payment with my bank because I don't know what else to do to get these people to stop taking my money for a product I no longer want.
It's a shame that a friend of mine convinced me to try this product and I went went his word over warnings that this company was scammy. January 15, at I took it for 6 months faithfully. I am not a junk food eater never have been.
I ate a few small meals a day. All these products have done was make me gain weight, I felt bloated all the time. Made me want to eat all the time, more then I normally would.
I even tried the shakes Plexus 96 when made with coconut milk and fruit is to help reduce your stomach. The have testimonials that you can post to get people to join under you. My up line was on it for over a year and states she lost 70lbs. Looking at pictures of her she might of lost The bio cleanse does help with keeping you regular or it could just be because I was drinking more water. The company pays you 5 people down your down line. Sensible eating and joining a online support group or the buddy system is way cheaper and works better at you are more likely to keep the weight off for good without spending a fortune.
I have tried this product cause a friend talked me into trying with her well we have not seen 1 pound lost from our body we gave it the 30 days as it says used in every morning before any good or drinks. No change in our energy level or appetite. I even kicked it up by purchasing the bio pills still nothing.
I would give not recommend to other friends, but we are all different but as I mentioned I did this diet a friend also I would give it a higher rate if just 1 of us seen results.
They should give rate from Carol. This company is a scam. I will be sure I post this everywhere possible associated with Plexus. If you buy from your company you will NEVER get a person on the phone to even ask a question about the order.
Amazing how easy your company can charge a credit card but can not answer questions. I have called for 3 days straight not to mention the week before and multiple help tickets to csplexus scam no response. I am currently on hold for 46 mins and counting. The primary ingredients are readily available from virtually any supplement vendor for a fraction of the cost.
None of the ingredients of Plexus Slim have been proven to lead to weight loss, and none of our testers believed the product led to any weight loss. The 'Ambassadors' have no morals, ethics or values Others have infiltrated forums, ending glowing reviews with obvious sales pitches. Another problem with some reviews and comments regarding Plexus Slim is that you may see anonymous users making outrageous and unsubstantiated claims — often for conditions that the product is not advertised to help.
I should have known better than to get involved in another one of these scams, but I guess I just can't help it! I read that if you didn't cancel within 18 days of ordering then they would send you another bottle but I did not see a price they would charge, until I went online and read all this stuff!! Man, another one of those companies that can't sell their product unless they are sneaky and tricky and fool the people, as usual! Now, I have been calling that phone number since Saturday and all I get is a fast busy signal.
I tried emailing them but it wouldn't go through! So, I guess my only recourse is to call my credit card and cancel or block any further charges from this company!! I have requested from them a refund and no one has done so. I would never do business with them ever again".
This product has not done anything for me. I don't feel any more energized then I was before and I have not lost a single pound from it. I have taken multiple products from Plexus for 4 months with no results.
I didn't stop my last automatic order in time so I knew I was returning it as soon as it arrived. I have sent 2 emails and sat on hold for 45 minutes twice trying to reach someone by phone. There has not been any response.
First email was 9 days ago. I have the return address but I need a Return Authorization. By the time I might finally reach someone I will probably be out of my Day Limit to return. I am frustrated with Plexus right now. I guess Plexus is the new world saver!! If you can "earn a trip to Hawaii" it is a business and way to many people are falling into the trap and pending thousands to " get gut healthy" my friend ahs been doing it since Sept They have everyone brain washed Brittany This company is horrible to even work with!
After three months it worked on my but it was just too expensive. So I stopped and had a horrible withdrawal for a whole week!
It really makes me wonder what I was really putting in my body to have a withdrawal like that. So after I stopped taking the product they kept billing me and shipping products to me! I returned both within their time frame and have been trying to get a refund This is the worst company I have ever dealt with!

Earlier in December I had indicated to my ambassador that I did not want to receive the whole package but only 3 of the 5 supplements AND that I did not want them until January because I would be out of town for the holidays. She assured me that it was taken care of. Since that time, I have changed my mind about Plexus and have decided I do not want to continue at all with the program.
I have the supplements in a package ready to ship back to Plexus, but I need an authorization number for return. I have written the company several times and received no answer. They gave me a ticket number and told me it might be days before they responded due to a high volume of emails. I have also called their number and am always being told to hold because we have a high volume of calls.
I am sick and tired of writing and there is no answer. I am tired of calling and there is no one who will talk with me. I have waited up to 10 minutes and still gotten no one to talk with me. I want an immediate return number for the products , an immediate discontinuation of shipments, and an immediate refund of my money.
I am tired of waiting. I have been trying for over 2 weeks to get a response and no one gives me anything. This is a poor way to do business. I want a return authorization number to send back the plexus products.
I want my credit card account charges reiumbursed for the returned merchandise. I want to discontinue any further shipments from Plexus. DWPJanuary 5, at 4: Finally called the credit card to stop the charge.
They stop it according to the amount. So, plexus changed the amount to make the charge go through. I will refuse the package with the post office next time and I will dispute the charge with my credit card. Then my next step will be to cancel my credit card altogether.
In the beginning I didn't even intend to cancel my order, only change it, but I refuse to do business with a company that won't reply to emails or answer the telephone. Reply giligan hartwellJanuary 5, at 6: Reply MichelleFebruary 16, at 6: Their customer service is awful! I think there is no 60 day refund.

The companies are responsible for the bad vibes because they should provide training that exclude ATTACKING your friends as opposed to telling the truth about the business and letting the friends decide without pressure or feeling guilty.

Mike - February 18th, at When I investigated, it turns out that my money had been taken directly out of my account by Plexus Worldwide on February 10, I had never even heard of Plexus until that day.
The bank investigated and discovered it was not a data breach by someone using my debit card information to purchase Plexus products, but had been withdrawn by Plexus Worldwide directly without any reason. The matter was sent to the fraud prevention unit of the bank and the local police were notified of the theft, who then in turn notified Arizona State Police I live in MA that Plexus had stolen money from me and was likely doing it from people all over the country to fund their product.
The local police investigation began yesterday Feb. This exact thing just happened to me today!!!!! Did you ever get your money back? I have never written a review on anything before but dealing with this company has triggered this response.
I sent in a request to return unopened order due to anaphylactic allergic response from first order. My healthcare colleagues and MD encouraged me to stop the system immediately.

This complaint to the BBB says it all. Admittedly, I should have done my own research prior to "jumping on the bandwagon" but I did not do so. I sold my first order to a friend who broke out in a rash after consuming this product. She returned the product to me and I promptly refunded her money. I returned the remainder of the product to Plexus. Instead of processing a refund, they promptly returned the same package back to me stating that it had been used and therefore they could not issue a refund.
So much for their 60 Day Money Back Guarantee. With that being my que to sever ties with this company, I began calling them only to never get through to their "NO" customer service, I have sent email after email, no success, and I continue to get correspondence from their company with the lastest email stating that they were going to charge my card for no activity. This company is absolutely the worst that I have ever been associated with.
I began researching to determine if I could possibly be the only person with this situation and have found that there are many people experiencing the same problems that I have with this company. It seems that this company is a complete scam and confirms my belief that it is a pyramid scheme and the only people that are being helped by this product are those scamming others.
Additionally, I have become very skeptical of those that represent this company. Products are fine and all. It's Plexus Customer Service is the worst customer service ever. Part of my order didn't show up, so after calling and being on hold for half an hour until I could actually speak with someone, I just told them I wanted a refund on the missing items. No problem right, rep got it done and said it would be posted in business days and I'd have the refund. Eight business days later, no refund.
So I email in because I wasn't going to wait for half an hour again to talk to someone. Now I find out that it takes a full credit cycle, a month, before the refund is issued. So, pissed off as I am, I ask for the corporate number or the supervisor and all I get is avoidance. Customer service is what makes a company, and from dealing with this shifty service, I'm done with the company. I work in Customer service and issue refunds when necessary.
Most financial institutions only take business days to issue the refund, we have gotten this information straight from the credit card companies. Today is the 15th business day. This company is a joke! I still have not gotten a response from a supervisor or from corporate. I would of just returned all the crap from Plexus if it didn't take a month to get a refund, but for that long, what's the use.
I finally had to cancel my debit card to get them to stop billing me. To me is a scam but that's only my opinion. I started taking it because my friend is an ambassador, and I have seen a lot of her posts and was curious. She's down 2 sizes in 4 months. I have maybe taken it for 2 weeks, and I have noticed a positive difference in my moods. I have stopped drinking pop, which was a life long habit I was unable to do. That would be called common sense. And I really don't think that Plexus ate your brain cells up, so if you do not have that much sense in you, then you were just born stupid.
I have spent lots of money of products that do not work for me. They make me hungrier- I go on binges, eating everything in sight. I could never kick the pop habit. Couldn't stand drinking water. I would have vicious mood swings, because my sugar would drop so low, because I was trying to consume the recommended calories.
My body was constantly stiff. I'm 30 years old, and when I woke up in the mornings I felt like I was And then I started taking plexus. I only take the pink drink, none of their other products, and everything I have described has almost totally went away in 2 weeks. When and if I start feeling bad or having negative side effects to Plexus, I will stop taking it, because I know my body. My cousin sent me a sample of the pink drink to try.
I love the, 'these are typical symptoms of your body detoxing' statements made by ambassadors. The symptoms are signals the body is sending that there is an issue. Shhh, don't tell the truth These are symptoms of dehydration and starvation. When many people undertake a detox plan or a new diet, they dramatically cut their caloric intake and unfortunately the do not consume enough water, or consume substances with diuretic properties which therefore increase their odds of becoming dehydrated.
They are hungry, may experience dizziness or irritability, and feel fatigued. By day two, their body starts breaking down muscle mass to provide them with energy and they may experience additional mood swings, difficulty sleeping, or overwhelming fatigue.
By the third day, they are likely having headaches, muscle pain or stiffness, and even dizziness or nausea. Many people who report a lb weight loss during the initial period of any detox or diet are truly losing water and a small degree of muscle mass. They are not losing fat! This site you are all reading is a scam!! Get real people and stop bashing companies because you want yours to look better! Plexus Slim is a scam. This site is not a scam, it's one where the truth is shared. Sharing is not bashing.
It's called killing off Candida overgrowth! Do your homework and research it yourself! You guys have nothing better to do than pick on one company verses how many?
For a company that does bad they sell one million worth of products a month! If they did everything listed on this site they would be shut down. SMH as well Betty W! They DID everything listed on this site and they should be shut down. I have been on plexus triplex for almost 2 months.
I have gained almost 10lbs. It's been weeks that I've been in contact with this spell caster. He was recommended to me by sharon moore. Dr Abalaka help me out with my finances and also a favor spell. His Email Address is dr. Wish you all the best.

More than half a century of quantifiable evidence, proves beyond all reasonable doubt that what has become popularly known as 'Multi-Level' or 'Network Marketing' is nothing more than an absurd, cultic, economic pseudo-science, and that the impressive-sounding made-up term 'MLM,' is, therefore, part of an extensive, thought-stopping, non-traditional jargon which has been developed, and constantly-repeated, by the instigators, and associates, of various, copy-cat, major, and minor, ongoing organized crime groups hiding behind labyrinths of legally-registered corporate structures to shut-down the critical, and evaluative, faculties of victims, and of casual observers, in order to perpetrate, and dissimulate, a series of blame-the-victim closed-market swindles or pyramid scams dressed up as 'legitimate direct selling income opportunites' , and related advance-fee frauds dressed up as 'legitimate training and motivation, self-betterment, programs, leads, ' etc.

Plexus Product Reviews from Real Users. Honest Reviews from Customers, Ambassadors, and more Many are asking these questions: It is important to note here, that this company has been in operation since They have been selling the pink drink, Slim, since roughly late Who cares at this point anyway, right? They have banked their money early on, re-invested it in houses, and even other companies.
Take the money out of the equation, ask people what they really think of the products, and this is what you get:. Here is one of three Videos that they do not want Ambassadors to use:.
Was this originally created for Diabetes? They have always wanted you to think so. All you have to do is "google" these words "Plexus Slim is an all natural weight loss formula that was originally formulated for diabetics" and you find dozens of pages marketing the product that way! If that doesn't satisfy you, have a look at their "study". Why include Glucose Levels if you aren't talking about Diabetes?
Even though it is". Wonder how many people were effected by this? An inspection of the returned product has been completed. The odor was a combination of the packaging and accelerator pills.
When compared to other bags of the 3 day trials the odor was similar. After realizing I received a bad supply of Plexus slim , I spoke with customer service. They emailed me a shipping label to print out so that I could send the product back. Once they received the product back, I was supposed to be sent a replacement. Since I am an ambassador for the company I was informed of a compliance issue but I was not told what the issue was.
I waited on hold for an hour to take care of that issue. I was then told that I would receive a call back, which I did not. About a month went by without me receiving my replacement.
